Common Question About Hot Yoga

What is hot yoga?

Hot yoga is a style of yoga practiced in a room heated to a high temperature, usually around 85-105°F (29-40°C). The heat is intended to help increase flexibility, detoxify the body through sweating, and enhance the overall yoga experience.

What are the benefits of hot yoga?

Benefits of hot yoga may include increased flexibility, improved cardiovascular health, enhanced detoxification through sweating, and a deeper mental focus. The heat can also help muscles warm up faster, potentially reducing the risk of injury.

What should I wear to hot yoga?

Wear lightweight, moisture-wicking clothing that will keep you cool and dry. Many people opt for a sports bra and shorts or leggings. It’s important to wear something you’re comfortable moving in and that can handle the sweat.

How should I prepare for a hot yoga class?

Stay hydrated before, during, and after class. Avoid heavy meals right before class, but a light snack can be beneficial. Make sure to arrive a little early to get acclimated to the heat and settle into your space.

Can beginners do hot yoga?

Yes, beginners can do hot yoga, but it’s important to listen to your body and take it slow. Start with shorter classes or lower temperatures if you’re new to the practice or the heat.
